Al Jazeera America — Network Launch
Overview
Digital and motion design for the launch of Al Jazeera America, supporting the rollout of a new U.S. news network. Work focused on building a scalable digital advertising system capable of handling a high volume of launch assets while maintaining clarity, consistency, and restraint.
Challenge
The launch required numerous digital ad variations across sizes and placements, many of them animated. The challenge was balancing speed and scale with the level of polish and seriousness expected from a national news brand.
Approach
I partnered closely with another designer/animator to simplify production without flattening the creative. We categorized the ads into core animation types and developed a flexible, template-based motion system that controlled layout, text behavior, and masking while allowing content to vary. This approach created structure within a fast-paced production environment and ensured a consistent visual language across formats.
Outcome
The system allowed the launch campaign to scale efficiently while maintaining a cohesive, professional presence across all digital placements. It established a repeatable approach to motion that supported the network’s debut and informed future digital campaign workflows.

Manhattan — WGN AMERICA
For WGN America’s Manhattan, I designed the storyboards, layouts, and UI systems that guided all social and digital advertising across the campaign. The work spanned page takeovers, video and interactive units, and standard text-based animations, all built to support episodic storytelling within a cohesive visual framework. Modular structures allowed content to flex across placements while maintaining clarity, hierarchy, and tone throughout the series launch and ongoing promotion.

Manchester by the sea
For the award season promotion of Manchester by the Sea, the creative focused on restraint—using stillness, pacing, and negative space to carry the emotional weight of the story. Digital placements were designed to respect the film’s tone, prioritizing atmosphere and typography over overt motion or messaging. The result was a quiet, deliberate presence that aligned closely with the film’s intimate narrative.
